Golf might be the classiest game out there, I mean knickerbockers…can’t beat that. If you have the pizazz pull off this courageous look, it doesn’t even matter how well you hit the ball, you’ve got class my friend. When you’re out on the links, you want to strut your “A Game”, this is where the boys are separated from the men. There are four basic categories you can fall under…which one are you?

The Athlete:

You might not be sponsored, but you’ll die before abandoning your beloved Nike, Adidas, or Under Armour apparel. Golf is becoming more athletic, so you know what that means: tighter clothing to show off those newly formed muscles. The baggy shirt is DEAD, but unfortunately some people are under the impression that a bigger shirt will make them look “small.” False, clothes don’t make you look smaller, diets do. So, in other words know your body type…or just be an athlete. If you’re a little on the hefty side, no worries, just be okay with wearing black in the dead heat of summer (Not only will this make you look slimmer, you might also sweat away some extra pounds as well. #winning). Matching your belt to your shirt is an effective way to minimize contrast in your midsection and provides that “washboard abs” look. Please note, there are belt loops for a reason, please use them. Finally, please, please, pleeeeease DO NOT pop the collar. You are an athlete, not a frat boy who peaked in high school. TONE IT DOWN.

The Visionary:

Game changer, trendsetter, innovator, all synonymous to the Visionary. With vibrant prints, bold patterns and colors brighter than the sun, the visionary isn’t afraid of anything. Loudmouth and Puma are the brands of this superstar. The biggest advantage of wearing these is the cart girl will be giving you her number without you even asking. Yeah, you’ll look that good. I mean look at John Daly, a two-time major winning golfer, or Rickie Fowler, the ladies swoon over Rickie. I can’t promise you that wearing these will make you a better golfer, but when you feel good, you play good. The only recommendation I can make is don’t mix patterns, don’t be that guy that wears a striped shirt with plaid shorts. When supporting this look, you better be a baller, no hacks allowed.

The Gentleman:

If you’re going for the modern look, I recommend brands such as Link Soul or Travis Mathew’s. This is called the Gentleman. Both these brands offer an on-course and off-course look. The natural swag of the West Coast is stitched into these masterpieces of clothing. Wear them proudly. The modern look consists of premium materials used in an elegant design, these shirts are cutting-edge and represent a level of sophistication. They’re clean, classy and provide a good first impression.

The Legend

The last type of golfer, only a few can pull off and that’s why it is called The Legend. Shout out to Payne Stewart, the finest at pulling off the legendary knickerbockers look. If you wear these daily, you are a badass. Period.
